“The Beauty of Holiness” (Psalms 96:9)
(Sharing the love of Jesus with the girls of the night)
A Ministry of Rejoice Ministries, Inc.
Recently I got out of the Mobile Church Van to greet one of the regular girls, a new person of 2011. She is vibrant and alert and I sense gifted.
Each experience is different. Often times we begin with a chat for a few minutes. I might begin with one of their favorite songs and other times I immediately share a portion of God’s Word to encourage them.
In this situation, I began singing a simple song. It is along the lines of the familiar song, “Jesus loves me, this I know” (which also is a good one I use frequently!)
“I love Jesus. I love Jesus. He’s my Friend. He’s my Friend.
I will never leave Him. I will never leave Him. He’s my Friend.”
I often times stop singing to let them sing out, and I did so with this girl. Then, to my surprise, she continued with a 2nd verse.
“I hate the devil. I hate the devil. He’s my enemy. He’s my enemy…..”
She never finished the song, because she stopped as the presence of the Lord began to touch her heart. I saw tears coming down her face. She quickly wanted to hide them, but they were evident.
There was nothing more to say because the Lord was speaking and I didn’t need to. I really enjoy these kinds of moments!
I embraced her and went on. I wanted God to have the last word.
As long as I can rent a van (The Mobile Chapel Van Vision is securing a van to be purchased fully equipped for travel and ministry on the streets),
I will go to the girls nightly as possible at different times. They go nightly, should not I?
Financially I juggle between weekly rent, gasoline, cell phone and food. If you want to help for this work, your gifts and prayers are appreciated.
We are blessed to be a blessing (Ps. 20:6)!
